Farmers in the Wiregrass are facing the third drought in the past nine years. Although they have been able to recover in the past, this year is different.
Extremely low selling prices and climbing production costs are making it impossible for growers to make ends meet.
Growers from across the Wiregrass gathered in headland today to discuss concerns and possible solutions to the lack of income.
So far, growers have done everything possible to cut costs including laying off workers and planting less.
But now they're reaching beyond their resources for help and can only hope for the best.
