Dothan city leaders are closer to deciding if residents should get permits to hold a yard sale.
The issue was brought up last week. However, officials felt portions of the proposed ordinance should be tweaked.
The yard sale ordinance would allow three sales annually.
Signage advertising the sale would have to be a certain distance from the street, and there would be $10 penalty if a person has a yard sale with no permit.
One man is against the proposed ordinance.
“I disagree with the proposal for the yard sale ordinance from the City of Dothan. I love going to yard sales and want to continue to do so. Most yard sales are fine and you never know what treasures you will find,” said Joseph Littleton of Dothan.
City commissioners will vote on the yard sale ordinance next week.
