Troy University is receiving an $18,000 grant to help recruiter and retain special education teachers.
The grant is to help address the shortage of highly-qualified special-ed teachers in grades 6 through 12.
The program was developed to meet requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. Troy University Dothan will attend meetings to help them create a model for the new program in the next few months.
