A graduation ceremony was held Friday recognizing the accomplishments of 17 senior leaders.
The group of men and women successfully completed the leadership institute for retirees program.
The program is designed to build a community of volunteer leaders and advocates.
Each graduate completed a four week program on the spirit of volunteer service and how to lead healthier more meaningful lives.
“We hope they'll be encouraged to take care of problems seniors have and maybe they'll perform small group work or a big project this class will perform,” said Exec. Dir. Robert Crowder of SARCOA.
The senior leadership program is sponsored by Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging and Troy University Dothan.
