Two Children Killed In Marion County Fire

BELLEVIEW, Fla. (AP) - Investigators are at the scene of a mobile home fire in Marion County that killed two girls earlier Friday morning.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Susan Livoti says five-year-old
Kayana Carr and six-year-old Destiny Gordon died in the fire. Their
mother, Brenda Miller, is in critical condition in the hospital.

She was burned on her chest, arms and face. Her son, 12-year-old
Durell Miller, is in stable condition. It's not clear if he suffered any burns.

Fire-Rescue spokeswoman Heather Danenhower says flames were
shooting through the roof and windows when firefighters arrived at
the home in a wooded area in Belleview.

She says the boy told his mother about the fire. She then ran to a neighbor, about 500 feet away, and called nine-one-one.
