There's a new push in the Wiregrass to prevent children from smoking cigarettes.
Thursday, the coalition for a tobacco frees Wiregrass announced a $24,000 thousand grant at Daleville city hall.
The Daleville High School football team was there for the announcement.
Director Brenda Stinson says it's important for teens to learn not to smoke early.
“That's the lifeline for the tobacco company who get kids to smoke and become addicted and that’s what we educate for,” said Stinson.
The coalition is promoting change in communities with smoke-free restaurants and other environments.
