The state of Alabama joins Georgia and Florida in holding its first sales tax holiday.
It will begin Friday, August 4th and end at midnight Sunday August 6th.
The holiday will give shoppers the opportunity to buy certain school supplies, computers and clothing free of state sales or use tax.
For each year starting in 2007, the sales tax holiday will begin on the first Friday of August and end the following Sunday.
