There was only a 13 percent difference in the results for the Democratic candidate in the Henry County sheriff's race.
The winner of that runoff is Will Maddox.
Maddox has served Henry County as a wildlife enforcement officer for the past 26 years.
His opponent Dexter Grimsley was not upset about results, but instead happy about being able to participate in the election process.
Will Maddox: "I feel good... I want to thank God for the strength to be here... for my health and for my opponent... For a clean race, he fought a good fight and he was a worthy opponent," said Maddox
"I just thank God that I live in a Democratic society. When I look at the rest of the world and see what's going on, I appreciate being somewhere like this where the people have the right to choose... The people have chosen, and you know we appreciate the way the people had the choice to choose who would represent them," said Grimsley.
Maddox will now face Republican candidate Mark Jones, in the November general election.
