Local Boy Scout officials say a debate between the United Way and the Boys Scouts in South Florida does not involve the agencies in the Wiregrass area.
Miami United Way officials voted this week to stop funding the scouts because of the organization's stand on gay related issues.
But officials with the local Boy Scout Council say it does not affect them.
The Wiregrass United Way raises funds for the Boy Scouts and 35 other non-profit agencies in five Southeast Alabama counties.
