African Ministers in Blakely

Three African nations desire to improve their country's agricultural base could translate into millions of dollars for the city of Blakely.

A delegation of ministers from the African nations of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania landed at the Early County airport Wednesday to meet local business and government officials.

A proposal offered by the agricultural firm Progressive AgCO would allow the company to sale reconditioned agricultural equipment to the African nations helping to improve farming conditions in these countries.

If the ministers agree to the offer, the company would build a new refurbishing plant, bringing new economic development and more than 30 jobs to Blakely.

The African leaders should make a decision within the next couple of months.
