PRICHARD, Ala. (AP) - A Prichard man got a shock on his way to
work when he pulled over to check out a fire in a shallow,
weed-chocked ditch. As he approached, he discovered the burning
body of a man.
Marshall McQuiter said the victim he found early Wednesday
appeared to be in his 30s. Police are investigating the death as a
McQuiter called 911 when he realiced the burning figure was a
person, not a mannequin.
Police said the body was taken to the Forensic Sciences office
in Mobile for identification and an autopsy. Officers said the
man's clothing was burned beyond recognition and the body did not
have any identification on it.
