Santa Rosa Island

A body found floating in the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday could be the 21st person who has drowned off Santa Rosa Island in just over two years.

The clothing and physical description match that of a 15-year-old Alabama boy who vanished Monday along a stretch of unguarded beach.

Yellow flags were flying to warn of dangerous currents.

Most of the previous drownings have occurred at Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach and the Gulf Islands National Seashore.

All 20 have been on beaches without lifeguards.
