United States Senator Bill Nelson attended Friday’s farewell ceremony in Panama City.
Nelson then made a stop in Marianna where he talked with the people there about a possible oil crisis.
The Jackson County chamber of commerce was packed with people asking senator nelson questions about our nation and world.
Oil dependency was a popular topic and Nelson said the US should look to alternative sources like ethanol and hybrid cars.
Nelson also said he will put up a fight when it comes to drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico.
“Keep it out there off the coast of Tampa and miles away from Pensacola so it will keep it away from the flight training keep it away from the coast of Florida,” said Nelson.
Nelson also talked about Iran and North Korea and the threat of nuclear weapons and prescription drug plan.
