Alabama Wildfire Worries

Drought, hurricane debris and holiday fireworks have created a dangerous wildfire scenario for Alabama.

Forestry officials say 2006 is a bigger worry, mostly because hurricane Ivan left hundreds of millions of dollars worth of timber scattered across forest land, providing fuel for wildfires.

And the fourth of July fireworks only made matters worse.

State foresters say more than 2,900 wildfires have burned 48,000 acres of Alabama forests this year.
