An Ohio teenager drowned Sunday after jumping off Acapulco Rock on Lake Martin.
Alabama marine police identified the victim as 16-year-old Kyle Reeves of Lebanon, Ohio.
The teenager jumped about 48 feet to the water and the impact apparently knocked him out. Reeves never resurfaced and a diver recovered his body about 20 minutes later.
Fountain said it was the first drowning at Acapulco Rock in almost ten years, but it marked the third time in the past three. Weeks where someone was either injured or died from jumping off the rock, a popular swimming area on the lake.
