Authorities say an Enterprise child is lucky to be alive after being struck by a car.
It happened on Nann Street when neighbors say Edwin Gomez ran into the street while chasing a ball.
The 4-year-old went directly into the path of a car.
If the driver didn't take immediate action, police say the child could have been seriously injured, or even killed.
Edwin was treated and released from medical center Enterprise for minor cuts and abrasions.
With school out for summer authorities remind motorists to be especially careful and watch for children playing near the roadway.
