People who stop by the Houston County Administration Building will soon have an easier time finding a parking space.
Spaces in front of the building can be hard to come by, especially around the end of the month when a lot of people buy their car tags.
So, the Road and Bridge Department has broken ground on a parking lot addition.
The project should help alleviate congestion by creating some new entrances and exits for vehicles.
Chairman of Houston Co. Commission Mark Culver said, “It’s going to give us twenty additional spaces it will also give us a way to get through the parking lot without having to go around. It will exit right into the lead in the big parking lot we have across the street. We are going to rename parking spaces to get more parking spaces over there also.”
The project is expected to be completed by the end July.
