Marianna Fire Update

Investigators say arson is to blame for last week's fire that left two people burned beyond recognition near Marianna.

Thousands of dollars are now being offered for information in the case.

The blaze in a mobile home on Missouri Road was reported about 1 p.m. last Wednesday afternoon.

The bodies of a man and woman were later found inside the home.

Jackson County Sheriff John McDaniel says the man has been identified as 34-year-old Kenneth Powell who lived at that address.

A positive identification of the woman is expected Wednesday, but Powell's wife, Sabrina, has not been seen since the fire.

The cause of death has not been released, but the case is now being worked as a homicide after fire investigators determined the blaze was set intentionally.

The State Fire Marshall's office will pay up to $2500 for information in the case and Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward.

If you have any information about this crime, please call either of these two numbers 850-482-9624 or 850-526-5000.
