Florala High Speed

A Wiregrass couple is trying to get back to normal after a felon, being chased by police, kicked-in the back door of their home.

It all led to some tense moments before the suspect was arrested.

Ewin and Thelma Moody say it all happened at about 6 a.m. Monday morning. They awoke to find a man yelling at them in their bedroom, the man 31-year-old Mark Cohron of Alabaster, Alabama.

Cohron is a fugitive on several felony burglary charges and entered the home looking for money.

Several hours before the home invasion, Cohron and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Rachel Foster of Pelham, allegedly fled from police during a routine traffic stop they both jumped out of their pick-up. It then crashed with a pursuing Florala squad car.

Both Cohron and Foster are behind bars at the Covington County Jail. Both face a laundry list of charges stemming from the high-speed chase in Florala.
