The first ever wiregrass soldier’s memorial is steps closer to completion.
Of the five monuments representing different branches of the military that will be placed in the park, two have now been erected.
You can see the two monuments driving up east Main Street.
The project costs roughly $300,000 so far $100,000 has been raised.
Project Manager Forrest Register said, “it’s a good feeling to see the community support this project the way they have. The most important thing is that we say to our military community that we appreciate what you're doing, what you have done and what you continue to do and will do for us in the future.”
