City of Dothan officials do not want the city's water supply to get dangerously low, and they're doing something to make sure that doesn't happen.
Tuesday, City Commissioners met and voted to purchase a seven acre plot of land to build deep water well.
The cost of the land is $98,000, and city officials say the property meets all the requirements for a well site.
The city of Dothan is currently under a phase two water restriction, which means that residents can only use water outdoors three days a week, and only during certain times of the day.
Officials estimate that it will take 18 months to install the well and they hope that building this additional water well will supply the city with more water and limit the number of restrictions placed on residents.
