Two men are in jail after police say they robbed a local convenience store. They ran out with some cash and stolen goods, but they didn't get far.
It happened Monday night around midnight. Investigators say two unarmed men went into the Shell station on Highway 231 in Midland City, demanding money. The store's security camera caught the two men taking around $200, three six-packs of beer and some cartons of cigarettes.
The suspects didn't get far from the Shell station. They ran to an apartment complex where police captured suspects around the 100th block of Waters Circle.
Twenty-five-year-old Adrian Andreas Tucker of Anniston and 21-year-old Johnathan Aaron Harvard of Dothan were arrested and charged with robbery.
Midland City Police Chief Dexter Hammond said, “After the arrest was made, they were taken in and booked in the Dale County Jail where now they await bong which was set at $3,000 a piece."
Despite Monday night's events, police say Midland City doesn't have a high crime rate.
"We have a fantastic police force, and we do a good job," said Chief Hammond.
Investigators tell News 4 everything taken during the robbery was recovered when Tucker and Harvard were arrested.
Midland City police had help from Dale County sheriff's deputies and Dothan police.
The Dale County deputies set up a perimeter around the apartment complex and Dothan’s K-9 officer was used to track the suspects within the apartment complex.
Both Tucker and Harvard are now awaiting a first appearance on the robbery charges.
