University of Alabama Athletic Director Mal Moore is set to make a list of candidates for the job of head football coach for the Crimson Tide.
The Mike Price era in Tuscaloosa ended before it ever really got started. Before he ever got a chance to sign his seven-year contract, Price was out.
On Saturday, Price was fired by University President Robert Witt. Questionable behavior at a topless bar in Pensacola two weeks ago cost Price his job.
At a meeting of the Alabama Board of Trustees Saturday, Bama players begged the university to spare their coach and Price himself pleaded for a second chance.
This is the third search for a head football coach that Mal Moore has had to make since he was hired as athletic director in November 1999.
Former Tide players and NFL assistants Sylvester Croom and Mike Shula, former Defensive Coordinator Carl Torbush and former Jacksonville Jaguars Coach Tom Coughlin are on a possible list for the job.
