Some Houston County residents have been contacted by a person claiming they have won a sweepstakes and should make arrangements to pay thousands of dollars to collect.
The caller claims to be from Washington DC and tells the supposed winner that he would call back to confirm payment has been arranged.
Houston County sheriff's deputies went to one home to wait for a returned call, but it never came.
