The arm of a 22-year-old man was severed between his shoulder and elbow in a freak accident Monday. The man's name has not been released.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. in the hydraulic compound at the Wise Recycling Plant in Dothan.

Reportedly, the man's arm got caught in a machine. Within 22 minutes of receiving the emergency call, Dothan Fire and Rescue were able to carefully take the machine apart, remove the arm and take it to Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Hospital officials expect him to recover from his injury and regain moderate use of his arm.
