Florida's attorney general's office wants to warn Florida residents about the dangers of internet scam.
The Florida attorney's general office joined forces with DeFuniak Springs authorities to warn residents of scams that can be found on the internet.
The warnings were targeted towards the senior citizens. The information applied to all ages.
State general for the Attorney General Jack Sshreve tells why it's important for them to hold these meetings.
“So many things are important right now where there are more are more scams a lot because of the internet, because of computers, and because of the hurricanes. It’s just good for people to know some of the things to look for and try to avoid being scammed by these crook out there,” said Shreve.
The Florida attorney general's office encourages everyone to report fraud to their hotline. That number is 1-866-9 NO SCAM or 1-866-966-7226
