Houston County is in line to receive half a million dollars to replace a heavily traveled bridge. The problem is, county officials still need upwards of $1.5 million to complete the project.
The bridge on Brannon Stand Road has about 10,000 cars traveling on it daily.
Houston county commission chairman mark culver says they want to widen the bridge, and widen Brannon Stand Road.
U.S. Representative Terry Everett helped secure the $500,000, now commissioners are looking at other options.
President Bush has to sign the bill into law.
