Lack of rain is causing lower water levels in lakes and rivers across the tri-states. Eufaula officials say its lake is feeling the worse effects.
The Walter F. George dam, which feeds into Lake Eufaula, is almost five feet below what it’s supposed to be.
A local lake bait and tackle manager says bait sales have dropped, and due to ensuring the safety of customers, renting boats has become dangerous.
However, tourism officials say the shallow waters haven't affected the number of boaters on the lake, just how they boat.
Army Corps of Engineers says if worse comes to worse they'll construct river channels that will run through each lake.
