Emergency responders met in the Houston County EMA office on Tuesday to prepare for storms later this week.

A National Weather Service webinar brought local officials up to date on a storm system headed towards the area.

According to meteorologist Kelly Godsey, the chance for severe weather is low in Wiregrass area; it is under five percent.

However with low lying and flood prone areas of Houston County the predicted rainfall of two to three inches could raise flooding concerns.

Both Houston County schools and Dothan city schools superintendents were in attendance. There are no planned schedule changes due to weather.
