Military Families

A large number of men and women from the Tri-States area have been deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. And some of their families are facing serious financial trouble.

But, members of one Northwest Florida community are trying to ease some of the burdens.

This week, "Feed the Children" began its food distribution to families of military personnel deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Non-perishable food and personal hygiene items have been sent to family centers across Florida, including Marianna.

The help is available for immediate family members of the Florida Army National Guard. The items are on a first come, first serve basis.

The distribution for families of deployed soldiers is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Marianna National Guard Armory.
