Dumb Laws

Two recent high school graduates in Columbus, Georgia, are making a big splash with a new book on the nation's dumbest laws.

They're calling it, "You May Not Tie an Alligator to a Fire Hydrant: 101 Real Dumb Laws."

Among the legal gems they've uncovered is a Georgia law that makes it illegal to use profanity in front of a dead body. It's also illegal there to carry an ice cream cone in your back pocket on Sunday. In Alabama, you can't do that any day of the week.

In Maine, you're not allowed to step out of a plane in flight.

Other entries on the dumb-law list: in North Carolina, elephants may not be used to plow cotton fields. It's also illegal there and in New York to throw a ball at someone's head for fun.

Also in New York, the penalty for jumping off a building -- is death.
