The soldiers came home last may after serving 10 months in Iraq.
In may of 2007, 75 members of the 1103rd were activated for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sunday family, friends, and even Mayor Jay Jaxon congratulated them on their accomplishments.
During their deployment, the guard members played a crucial role in helping thousands of soldiers and civilians.
“We're a combat sustained support battalion so what we were doing was trying to make sure the war and fighter had everything they need to carry on operations, whether that’s food, water, fuel, parts, we even moved concrete barriers at times," says Colonel Lee Maxwell Ellis of The 1103rd Support Battalion.
Family members we proud to be able to honor their soldiers, and it wasn't easy being away when they were so far from home.
"It was lonely. I missed my family members and just being in America. It was difficult," says 1st Lieutenant Reginald Hoyett of The 1103rd Support Battalion
"We made signs for them, Christmas cards for them just to make them feel like were home," says Nan Ellis, the Wife of Colonel Ellis
Soldiers and their families were rewarded with a brand new American flag, commemorative coins, and a certificate.
