Holmes County Meth Bust

A major drug bust in Northwest Florida has resulted in the arrest of 48 people in the last three days.

Authorities say 34-year-old Victor Jackson is behind the entire operation. He is facing charges of trafficking and manufacture of methamphetamine.

He's also expected to be charged in federal court. Holmes County Sheriff Dennis Lee says Jackson led an organized crystal-meth operation that was based in Ponce De Leon.

Many of the suspects taken into custody lived across Holmes and Walton Counties.

Reportedly, other drugs were found besides the meth including ecstasy, cocaine and marijuana.

Several area high school students were also arrested in the operation. They've been taken to juvenile detention facilities.

The investigation targeted two homes, one in Ponce De Leon and the other in Westville.

Authorities reportedly found fully operational labs and some $390,000 in cash.

Chief Deputy Eddie Ingram says some of those charged provided methamphetamine to children as young as 13 year old. Several of the suspects are being held without bond.
