Troy Soldier's Funeral

The remains of a Wiregrass soldier killed during Operation Iraqi Freedom have come home.

The body of 21-year-old Private First Class Johnny Brown was transported to the Dillard Funeral Home late Monday night.

Troy Mayor Jimmy Lunsford and military officials were on hand to comfort the family.

Brown was killed on April 14th after a grenade exploded inside his military vehicle.

He was a member of the Army's 101st Airborne Division and became the fourth casualty from the state of Alabama to die in the war in Iraq.

Private First Class Johnny Brown's funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Park Memorial Methodist Church in Troy.
