Two men faced off on the democratic ticket, incumbent Sheriff Lamar Glover and Ashford assistant police Chief Eddie Ingram.
Glover has been involved with law enforcement for 43 years.
31 years as an Alabama State Trooper and 12 years as sheriff of Houston County.
Eddie Ingram, worked with the Houston County sheriff's department several times throughout his 26 year career.
He has also worked in law enforcement in Headland Villa Rica, Georgia and Holmes County Florida.
Lamar Glover edged out his opponent by 3 votes. There will be a re-count this Friday in this race since it was so close.
