One Wiregrass resident was killed and another critically injured in separate accidents in Northwest Florida early Sunday morning.
Twenty-one-year-old Kevin Eric Barnes of Daleville was killed in Okaloosa County in a single car wreck on state road 285 just north of Niceville shortly after 2 a.m.
Authority’s report Barnes was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control, hitting a tree on the driver's door.
The accident was not discovered until just after 4 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Twenty-year-old Jashua W. Jones of Enterprise was critically injured when he crossed the center line on Highway 79 in Holmes County and struck a semi-truck.
Jones remains at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. The truck driver was not injured.
