Enterprise School Board Said No to Cell Phone

One of the largest school districts in the Wiregrass said "no" to cell phones and pagers.

At the recommendation of Enterprise city school Superintendent Dr. Jim Reese, the board unanimously approved the measure.

The board has given much of the discretion on cell phone use to each school's principal.

Phone use will be prohibited on school campuses.

"This is a controversial issue. It’s an issue all over the internet in the United States. You can get on line and look at policy. Look at what districts are doing. We’ll see if it works," said Dr. Reese

The new cell phone regulation is expected to be printed in the enterprise student code policy by the start of next school year.
