Dothan schools out for this school year and the deadline to register for summer programs is days away.
The city of Dothan is offering a free program called, the "playground program."
It will be take place at three recreation centers around the city; Wiregras Rec. Center, Andrew Bell and Walton Park and each will accept between 100 and 150-children.
They feature indoor and outdoor activities and also provide lunch.
Dothan Leisure Services Assistant Dir. Elston Jones “We run a safe and organized summer playground program. As part of this program, we take field trips and do arts and crafts, we swim, and we go to Water World."
The playground programs begin June 5 and last through July 28. Since the program is free of charge, officials urge you to arrive at registration early.
It will be held Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m. until noon at the three locations.
