The University of Alabama Medical and Law Schools gained their highest marks ever in the most recent ranking of graduate schools by US News and World Report.
UAB's medical school entered the nation's top 25 in both major categories, primary care and research.
The 24th rank in the research category was up from #28 in 2001.
The #22 rank in the primary care category was up from 30th in the last survey. The law school in Tuscaloosa ranked 45th in the new rankings, up from 46th in the magazine's 2001 survey.
That puts the University of Alabama in the top 25 among public law schools.
