The raccoon that attacked a Lynn Haven woman earlier this week has tested positive for rabies.
78-year old Ruth Williams said she will receive a series of rabies shots for the at least 20 bites she received when she tried to chase the raccoon with a shovel on Monday.
A Lynn Haven police officer and an animal control employee also are receiving rabies vaccinations.
Williams received the first of four rabies vaccine shots on Wednesday and has also had a rabies immune globulin shot, which helps fight the disease.
Animal control officers later killed the raccoon.
