Geneva County Sheriff Greg Ward is asking the E-911 board for more time to come up with a funding solution.
The board has given the sheriff and two other law enforcement departments a June 1 deadline.
The board says these agencies should pay E-911 an annual fee to continue dispatch service.
Currently both Slocomb and Samson are paying at the request of Sheriff Ward.
The E-911 director will ask his board to extend the cutoff deadline to October.
It's hoped a compromise can be reached before E-911 discontinues dispatch service to the sheriff's department along with the Hartford and Geneva police departments.
