With the start of the 2006 hurricane season, the state of Florida has created a hurricane sales tax holiday on storm essentials.
It started Sunday night and will end at midnight, Thursday June 1st.
A sales tax will be allowed for items including flashlights, batteries and generators.
Florida Governor Jeb Bush's objective is to get the individual to start planning for the safety their family.
Storm shutter devices under $200 qualify under the sales tax holiday.
That includes plywood used to board up windows.
