Odd-Even Watering

If you are planning on doing yard work now that the weather is warmer, the odd-even watering plan is once again in effect in Dothan.

The plan started Tuesday and goes until Oct. 1.

Odd numbered street addresses can wash cars and water lawns on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Even numbered addresses get their turn on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. No watering at all will be allowed on Mondays.

Dothan officials said they're trying to conserve water now in case there's a shortage later.

Those who violate the restriction will face stiff penalties. First offenders will receive a warning. After that, the city will turn your water off and the fee increases each time the water is turned on again.

On the fourth offense, your pipes will be shut down until October. And then it will cost $1,000 to get service restored.
