Holloman Hearing

A capital murder suspect claims he can't get a fair trial in Houston County, but the judge said they’d try anyway.

James Holloman is accused of killing his father-in-law, wounding his mother-in-law and another man and kidnapping his estranged wife at gunpoint in May of 2000.

Investigators said Holloman opened fire with a shotgun after entering the family's home in Rehobeth through a back door.

Defense attorneys said statements about the case made by law enforcement officials on television and newspapers could prejudice potential jurors and they want the trial moved.

But, Judge Jerry White said he'll wait and see how the jury selection process pans out.

The case is still set for trial April 21 at the courthouse annex in Dothan.
