EMA Equipment

One Wiregrass town has received new computers courtesy of the U.S. government.

Also, additional radios and communication equipment will soon arrive in New Brockton.

Police Chief Jerry Gilbert said its being paid through the U.S. Homeland Security Act.

This means if the Coffee County EMA Office went down for any reason, New Brockton City Hall is the alternate site for emergency planning.

Without the federal homeland grant, Chief Gilbert doubts his cast-strapped city could have afforded to modernize its communication system.
