Officials said disc jockey Valerie Brown was strangled with a shoelace.
Authorities said they are also looking for a possible second suspect in Brown’s death. Her brother-in-law Ed Brown was arrested last Friday in Tifton, Georgia.
Officials said Ed Brown is the brother of her estranged husband.
Ed Brown's mother found the body in an apartment that she helped clean and maintain near Fort Walton Beach on June 13.
Deputies are trying to find a man seen entering the apartment with Ed Brown two days earlier.
