Throughout this week, hospitals across the country are thanking their staff for the time and hard work they dedicate to the healthcare industry.
Wednesday, Houston County and Dothan city officials recognized their efforts in a special ceremony to thank those who work in the field.
A celebration was held at Southeast Alabama Medical Center as part of the week's festivities.
Chief Operating Officer, Charlie Brannen said, "They enjoy themselves. The work we do is very serious. Our commitment to giving great care is our high test priority and just looking around it's a great team."
National Hospital Week runs from May 7 through May 13.
