County Real Estate for Sale

Houston County Commissioners are going into the real estate business, at least temporarily that is.

The old county road and bridge yard is for sale. The six and one-half acres are located near the intersection of Cottonwood Road and Emmons Drive.

The property will be advertised in local newspapers and commissioners will be taking offers for the next few weeks.

The county vacated the property about 20 years ago. The land is currently valued at about $35,000.

Interested buyers can contact the Houston County Commission office for more information at 677-4740.

Commissioners hope to vote on selling the property at their April 14 meeting.
