A Houston County circuit judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed against a Dothan church.
Members of Greater Beulah Baptist Church filed into a Dothan courtroom earlier this month and voted almost 10-1 to settle the dispute in church rather that in court.
Two members of the congregation filed the lawsuit against the church, Pastor Paul Hollman and a church secretary.
Starla Whitfield and B.C George claimed that church leaders were excluding the congregation from major financial decisions.
However, Judge Ed Jackson ruled the plaintiffs do not represent a majority of church members, and he tossed the case out of court.
The plaintiffs have six weeks to appeal the decision.
