For the fifth straight year, Zion Chapel School will be sending a team to the national battlebot competition.
A battlebot is a remote-controlled robot designed and constructed by students. In the competition, one team tries to disable the other school's battlebot.
"A lot of different skills they've done in the shop, and in the classroom. This year they are adding a descriptive section to go along with their engineering, mechanical skills and so on," said John McCrory, Agriculture Teacher & Battlebot Coach
Zion Chapel School has finished in the top 10 over the years.
The squad competes against much larger schools from places like Massachusetts, Colorado, and Wisconsin.
The team is one of just a few that will compete from Alabama.
